CERTIFICATE IN STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP
CERTIFICATE IN DIGITAL MARKETING
An entrepreneur and innovator, I co-founded magazines like Idealog, Stoppress and Good and published books such as Hot Topic, the Kiwi guide to climate change.
Science, tech, sustainability and business are my thing. I helped establish the Science Media Centre, taught science and maths at High School (those poor kids) and host the podcast This Climate Business.
I'm a past master at content marketing, work well with design and advertising agencies and know my way around brands.
There's nothing I love more than a good story.
I am a New Zealand writer, marketer and PR expert specialising in tech, investment and fast-growing businesses.

WORK
I'm your comms guy:
public relations, brand development, content creation and digital story-telling.
I can also help conceive new products, pitch ideas, motivate sales teams and turn ideas into commercial success.
More than anything, I can help you cope with the white-knuckle ride of entrepreneurship. I know what it's to like to lie awake wondering how to pay staff. And I know the thrill of seeing good ideas turned into success. Who doesn't love a roller-coaster?
I'd love to help.

See some of my work:
Most of this was done as Content Director at Anthem and ICG. My role was to help conceive of the ideas, write scripts and copy, brief designers and create comms strategies for amplifying through social or owned media.
WRITING
ROAD TO ABADDON
Road to Abaddon is my first foray into fiction. I'm a fan of sci-fi but never had the confidence to write. My wife Sarah kept pushing me to give it a crack and after about ten years of self-flagellation and tantrums, I finally got it done.
Road to Abaddon is a rollicking yarn set in a post-climate-changed dystopia where the best of humanity has escaped to floating cities and mutant bandits roam the Land. The story follows the adventures of teenagers Jonah Salvatore, a Metrician, and Nassim Farouk, a Lander. Mortal enemies, they discover a terrible truth about the world and must work together to save it.
Download Road to Abaddon on Kindle or buy it on Amazon!
I've been dabbling in short stories too.
This one, called 'Nothing is nothing', was first published in Idealog magazine.
